We’re celebrating 3/14, or Pi Day, with a fun resource round-up to teach students about this miraculous, nutty number. Our top resources are below:

  1. The Exploratorium lists creative Pi Day activities that use hands-on experiences such as cutting, wearing, searching, tossing and seeing the number.
  2. Ask.com has a great list of real-world applications of Pi.
  3. Pizza Hut, in collaboration with Princeton’s Professor Emeritus John H Conway, came up with some challenging math problems to celebrate the day. While students over 18 are the only ones eligible to win free pizza, the math problems are still fun to solve!
  4. NYT’s The Learning Network offers an excellent lesson plan on teaching the mathematics of infinity here.

How are you celebrating Pi Day?
